"My life feels as if it’s shrouded in mist. Who is a friend and who is a foe? Or is everyone around me a foe? I can’t tell."
"My Demon" tells the story of a powerful, centuries-old demon who suddenly loses his supernatural abilities and enters a contract marriage with a cold, chaebol heiress who is his only hope of recovering his powers, leading to a fiery romance as they navigate danger, uncover secrets, and learn about the complexities of love and humanity.
After watching My Demon, I'm left with mixed feelings. The supernatural premise hooked me immediately, and the lead actors delivered powerful performances. The chemistry between the leads carried the show through its weaker moments.
The visual effects were stunning, particularly the demon transformations. However, the plot became increasingly predictable, and some character decisions strained credibility. The religious elements felt inconsistent - mixing Christian imagery with concepts like reincarnation created tonal dissonance.
Standout moments include the tango fight scene and dark humor like "Park Bok-Gyu" (aka Park F*ck You). But the ending left me unsatisfied - an immortal demon and mortal human's love story inherently has an expiration date they never properly addressed.
